Weekend Shopping: Loehmann's, Ross Shoe Event And Silverlining Shoe Sale

In my capacity as a confessed shoppaholic and overall deal monger, I have to let you in one two sales going on this weekend that may be of interest.   First, one of my favorite designer deal places, Loehmann's is having their Friends and Family sale, use code Friends12 to save.  Here's the coupon.   Items of interest to look for : Giorgio Armani at Loehmann's, yes, you heard me right, Loehmann's has Mr. Armani!!! It's not cheap, after all it is couture, but it is cheaper than the Armani boutique. I also have found Vivienne Tam (in-store, not on the website) on sale at Loehmann's, another personal favorite of mine.  Here's the coupon for your shopping use.

Pictured: Save 20% off at Loehmann's in-store or online with this special coupon.
Over at Ross, the big shoe event is on, just in time for Easter.  Ross sent me a gift card, so I will be going on an in-store special The Recessionista Recognizance mission soon.  My spies tell me all shoes are on the sale, even kid's shoes and that prices are as low as $13.00. I will let you know what I find. I learned today at my gym, that if you are over 55 you can save an extra 10% at Ross on Tuesdays.  Warning, you will be carded at the register, but if you're the right age, why not get the deal?

Finally, for my Los Angeles readers, you should check out The Helping Hand's Silver Lining consignment store in Culver City is also having a shoe event, with 50% off shoes.  I understand they have some Ed Hardy shoes on the shelves and some great designer deals.  See the details below on the flyer.

Prepared for A Long Flight

{Zara poncho, Tory Burch Reva Flats, J.Crew Necklace (sold out), iPad}

Tomorrow is my last day in Peru. AJ and I are taking the night flight and although I am looking forward
to being back home, I am not looking forward to our 24-hour flight. Inspired by Taylor's outfit, I have decided to wear this Zara poncho with black leggings and my Tory Burch flats for the long flight.
Comfort is key as I am seven months pregnant. I am really hoping AJ sleeps on the flight,
but just in case I preloaded my iPad with several new games and his favorite movies.
I also downloaded a couple of books {The Hunger Games and The Paris Wife} for me
and taking several magazines. There are many things I will miss about Peru,
but I am ready to being back home.

DIVAS REBELDES

Thanks to the blog Miss Cosillas I knew the book Divas Rebeldes written by Cristina Morató.

For those who still don't know the book, I'll tell you that it relates the biography of 7 noted women (María Callas, Coco Chanel, Wallis Simpson, Eva Perón, Barbara Hutton, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy).

So far I had'nt read anything written by Morató and, although I tend to run away when I see this type of tittles, I finally decided to start reading it as I already told you here.

I've been captivated by the story of these women. The book relates details of their lives that were unknown to me and that have surprised me. Coco Chanel, a visionary, with a strong personality and the paradox in Barbara Hutton's life who, in spite of having a a wealthy life with plenty of abundance she felt empty and poor most of the time.

I don't want to reveal more info, just wanna invite you to read the book because I'm pretty sure that you'll be gripped by it.

Did you know the book? Have you read it?

¿Conocíais el libro? ¿Lo habéis leído?

Julep "Brooke" Swatch + Review

three coats, natural light

I got this color courtesy of Julep in my March It Girl Maven Box. I think this color is stunning. It is a top coat and I think it would be almost impossible to get a completely opaque coat with this polish. I tried to take pictures that captured how truly beautiful this color is in person. If you look at the polish in the bottle, I think it can give you a better idea of what the color looks like.

I was a bit sceptical of this polish because I really disliked Sofia--a shimmery, green top coat. Sofia was thick and goopy. It dried with a matte finished and didn't very apply evenly. I was apprehensive but this polish impressed me. I think that this is my favorite Julep color for spring or summer. It adds a subtle twinkle to any nail polish. I know the photo above is a little out of focus but I was finding it difficult to take a picture that captured the shimmer and sparkle. Also, in case you are worried about difficult removal--I found that it was relatively easy to remove. For a shimmer polish. Sigh. It is so pretty. I can't say that enough.

Color Love: Bright Yellow/Green

So I know that everyone is loving the "pop of color" trend right now (including myself), but why not take it a step further and make that color a neon? I've been seeing lots of pastels in stores since it's finally Spring, but I've also been seeing bright neons, like yellow and green! From runways to Forever 21, these colors are sure to catch your eye, and with the right styling and pieces, this can be a great trend for everyone this Spring and Summer! Whether it's on a bathing suit, accents on a wedge, or a full on dress, will you be rocking this trend?

I just bought a straw purse from Forever 21 with a little bit of neon yellow along the edges. I also got a pair of earrings with just a bit of the yellow on the edges, and everyone knows how I'm a nail polish addict, so of course, I've got neon nails too :)

Are you loving this trend or is it too bright for you? Do you own any neon yellow or green items?
