Skin Rules by Celebrity Dermatologist Debra Jaliman, Review & Giveaway
Back in February, I was sent a copy of the book "Skin Rules" by Dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman. It took me a while to crack the cover and read this one, but once I did, I was glad I took the time. Our skin is so important, but it's a fact that as working women and men, we sometimes take it for granted or don't take the time to take care of ourselves. This easy to read, slim volume is full of practical tips for taking good care of your skin. Some of the tips are obvious, like remember to wash your face and use a good sunscreen. But some of the tips are less obvious, and are good to remember and even hang on your bathroom wall when your doing your skin routine. "Don't waste your money of expensive cleansers," advise Dr. Jaliman. "Spend it on Moisturizers, Sunscreens and Anit-aging products instead." Sound advice, but Dr. Jaliman takes things even further. For each chapter or tip, she recommends specific products to help you keep your skin healthy. Her tips are also budget conscious, as she recommends products that are both expensive and budget friendly to help you keep your skin looking refreshed and healthy. Many of the products she recommends are reasonably priced and can be found at your local drug store like Oil of Olay, Neutrogena Gentle Cleanser and various L'Oreal products. You can read the book cover to cover, as I did in about an hour, or use it as a quick reference guide, looking up products or areas that are of interest to you. Dr. Jaliman discusses products like Latisse to help your grow lashes as well as Botox, if you're looking for remedies that are not 100% natural. Personally, I wouldn't use either product, but considering their market popularity, it's good to hear what a dermatologist thinks of them. Skin Rules retails for $22.99 which is a fairly low cost for tips from a well-known dermatologist. I was so impressed by the book, that I am going to give my copy away, and an extra book to pass on the good information to one lucky reader! To enter, here's what you need to do. Leave a comment here on this blog post telling me what your favorite low priced skincare product available at the drugstore is. You can get extra entries by selecting a social media task from the widget. There will be two winners chosen for this giveaway.
